Why Monday lists fill while three rooms stay dark

In many Smyrna and Cobb County suites, Monday is treated as the day that must absorb leftover demand from Friday. Coordinators add extra new-patient slots because the phone queue was long over the weekend. At the same time, procedure rooms remain assigned to a template written for a consultant who now works Tuesdays.

The waiting area then tells a false story. Chairs fill because arrivals were stacked into two consulting rooms, not because the building is short of space. A capacity review that only counts headcount in reception will recommend more chairs. A review that counts rooms against the actual book will recommend moving two procedure lists or releasing those rooms to ordinary follow-up.

Before changing the template, print one Monday from the appointment book and walk the suite at 08:15 and again at 11:00. Note which doors are open, which lights are off, and which lists started late because the first patient was a complex new referral placed in a fifteen-minute slot. Those three observations usually explain more than a monthly occupancy percentage.
