The template is a claim on rooms, not a wish
This page is the working picture behind Packagepathgrid reviews: how a published clinic session occupies doors, clocks, and people, and where the appointment book disagrees.
A session template usually names a weekday, a start, a finish, a specialty, and a room. In the building it also names a sink, a chaperone, and a corridor that cannot take two wheelchairs at 08:05. Capacity planning fails when only the first list is treated as real.
We draw sessions as blocks on paper. Full blocks are booked and expected to arrive. Idle blocks are printed on the template but historically empty. Overrun is drawn as a smear into the next hour. Coordinators recognise their own week in that drawing faster than in a monthly occupancy percentage.
Slot types that fight each other
New patients, follow-ups, procedures, and walk-ins cannot share a twenty-minute grid without someone absorbing the leftover minutes. The leftover is usually the follow-up who was told to arrive at 11:40 after a new-patient cluster. A session template reset separates those types onto hours that already have the right staff in the building.
